When locating the Folgunthur Amulet Fragment, the sequence of pillars required to open the first puzzle, the floor grate, is a reflection of the the room on the other side: Snake, Fish, Bird (in this order, from the door). The combination for the second puzzle, the room with six coffins with Draugr in them, is Bird, Bird, Dragon, from top to bottom. You can find this sequence on the 3D model of the Ivory Dragon Claw. To open the gate series in Folgunthor hit the far left, then close right, then close left lever.
As you begin making your way through Geirmund’s Hall, you will come to a steep drop down a shaft. Dive into the pool of water below. Proceed onward to find a chest submerged at the end of an underwater tunnel, or ascend the wooden steps leading out of the water. There is one symbol puzzle to open a gate, with the symbols preceding the pillars (the order is “Eagle, Whale, Snake, Whale”). After finding the arch-mage’s final resting place, you will come to a raised walkway and a lever, which is a trap. The real lever is behind you. Across the bridge and through a pendulum trap, you will come to a room with a flooded floor. Off to the right is Sigdis Gualdurson’s coffin, and he rises to confront you. He will teleport and shoot at you with the Gauldur Blackbow, which steals magicka; he will conjure duplicates that may also fire arrows at you; and he will use Unrelenting Force.
Once you have retrieved all three pieces of the amulet, you will be tasked with reassembling them. In order to do this you will need to head to Reachwater Rock. In the first large chamber you can take the path up to find the Emerald Dragon Claw on top of a note next to a dead Adventurer with some loot – the claw’s pattern will get you through the first stone door up ahead (top to bottom Bear, Whale, Snake). However, the door beyond it must be opened using the Ivory Claw. The sequence is Eagle, Eagle, Dragon. Continue through this door and travel to the end of the large chamber and place the three amulet shards on the table. The ghosts of the three brothers shall appear and you will have to destroy each of them one at a time.
Mikral Gauldurson will teleport to the far end of the room, and immediately afterwards several Draugr Thralls shall burst from the sarcophagi in the walls. He is a relatively straightforward enemy to beat, so long as you are wary of the drain enchantments on his axe.
Sigdis Gauldurson, an archer, will teleport to one of the several ledges in the room and create mirror images of himself. The quickest way to locate the real Sigdis is by shouting or using a ranged attack/spell on each of the Draugr until you locate the real one – the fakes disappear as soon as they are attacked. The real Sigdis can be identified by examining the helmets they wear. The fakes have horns protruding from the tops of their helmets, while the real one has horns that curve down to either side of his head. Sigdis may pose a problem to any player using weapons as you may be disarmed by his shouts and lose your weapon permanently when it flies away. You may want to consider stashing them in a container before the battle.
Jyrik Gauldurson will then finally fight your character, using a variety of magical attacks. He is a relatively straightforward enemy compared to his brothers although he may attempt to teleport around the room several times.
After dealing with three brothers once again, the ghost of their father Gauldur shall appear and reforge the Gauldur Amulet for you. Taking the amulet will finish the quest. A room in the corridor leading to the exit will open, revealing a chest with boss-level treasure inside of it.
